Get Paid to Surf the Internet

There are two main ways to get paid for surfing the web--Paid to Surf programs, and Incentive programs.  Read about Paid to Surf programs below.  We compiled a list of the best sites so you can sign up and start making money today.

Paid to Surf Programs

Paid to Surf companies pay you for viewing advertisements while surfing the internet.  Some will only credit you for time spent using your internet browser.  Others will pay you for anything you do on your computer as long as you are connected to the internet.  Finally, some share the revenue they get from advertisers.  You will have to view advertisements and may be required to click on advertisements from time-to-time.  However, you will be rewarded for this with real cash money.

While you will get paid for your time spent on-line, the best way to make money is to refer friends, family members, and other enterprising web surfers to these programs.  You will get money for others who use these programs after they sign up underneath you.

Yes, this is a multi-level marketing program, but it is not a get-rich-quick scheme.  It is the way the internet will be paid for in the future.  If you already spend a significant amount of time on the internet, sign up and make a few extra bucks each month.  Get a few friends to sign up and you could pay for your internet connection.  What have you got to lose?

Here are some paid to surf programs that are worth checking out.  Click on the link to sign up.  They will answer all your questions about how it works and what happens to your privacy.

AllAdvantage.com
Get paid for: Surfing the Web while having their advertisement bar active
Pay: You get 50 cents an hour for the time you spend actively surfing the web, 10 cents an hour for your direct referrals surfing time, and 05 cents an hour for their referrals surfing time.
Restrictions: 25 hours per month maximum time limit
Referral limit: 4 levels deep, unlimited number
Our opinion:
All Advantage is a good program.  You get paid a decent amount for surfing the web, but you only get paid if your browser is the active window and your mouse moves once in a while.  It would be nice if you got paid simply for having your computer on and being connected to the internet.  Another drawback is the 25 hour per month limit.  Overall, the advertising bar is stable and not overly obnoxious.

Go To World
Get paid for: Viewing advertisements in their "mini-portal" or on their custom web browser.  Ads are constantly sent to your computer from the internet.  If you aren't connected, they don't get sent.
Pay: They share revenue from their advertisers with you so actual payouts could vary.  However, they claim you will make 40 cents an hour for the time you spend surfing.  You earn 10 cents per hour that your direct referrals surf.  Their referrals net you 15 cents per hour.  Finally, their referrals earn you 20 cents an hour as they surf.
Restrictions: 40 hours per month maximum time limit.  You cannot use their software on multiple computers for your one account, i.e. you can't make money at home and at work.
Referral limit: 4 levels deep, unlimited number.  The pay goes up as the referrals get farther from you as described above.
Our opinion:

This program is very similar to AllAdvantage except that you get paid a little less per minute, but can rack up more hours per month.  We have had some problems connecting to their web site at times.  Also, it would be nice to use the software on multiple computers.  On the plus side, they have a cool portal web page.  We have not tried the "enhanced" browser out.

Cash Surfers
Get paid for: Having their CashBar Navigator active and being connected to the internet while doing anything on your computer.
Pay: You earn 10 points for every advertisement that gets rotated.  You also get paid 10% of the banners viewed by people you refer.  At the end of each month, the Cash Surfer people determine the payrate per point.  In January, 2000, the rate was about 56.9 points per penny.
Restrictions: There is no maximum time limit or point limit.  You can use the software on multiple computers.
Referral limit: 4 levels deep, unlimited number.
Our opinion:
When it is working, this program seems good.  However, we have had some problems getting connected to the server.

Desktop Dollars
Get paid for: Having their advertisement bar active and being connected to the internet while doing anything on your computer.
Pay: They share 50% of their advertising revenue with their members each month.  You split that money with all of the other members based on how much time you and your referrals spent logged in.  They pay by adding money to a debit card they give you.  You can request a check if you prefer.
Restrictions: No monthly time limit
Referral limit: 6 levels deep, unlimited number
Our opinion:
The view bar seems to get errors frequently.  This may mean that it is not recording time on-line.  Also, only time will tell how profitable this can be.  As more people join Desktop Dollars, the revenue shared per person may drop.

There is a chance for you to make a little extra money by utilizing your computer's idle time.  Why not have your computer help find the first 10,000,000 digit prime number rather then displaying South Park characters during off-hours?  You could make mathematics history and share in a $100,000 cash prize.  See our Distributed Computing page for more details.
